Aquatar is a virtual concierge prototype developed by Studio MACACO and Artificialy for Abacus Research AG. Users speak in natural language with Groog, a digital fish that answers out loud and can trigger animations, alter the aquarium or bring up content and 3D models. The project explores an AI assistant able to act inside a real-time environment, beyond the traditional text interface.
Aquatar is an interactive 3D environment built to explore a new kind of virtual concierge.
Users talk freely with Groog. The system interprets every request and turns it into a spoken answer, an animation, a graphic interface or an action inside the aquarium.
Groog can trigger animations, change the setting and present content through dedicated interfaces.
Some commands let him generate and display 3D models while the experience is running.
Groog gives the system its voice. Bonk widens what it can express through gestures, animations, signs and actions on the scene.
The characters let the AI communicate without breaking the continuity of the experience.
Studio MACACO handled art direction, characters, 3D modelling, animation and the real-time software base.
Artificialy developed and integrated the artificial intelligence technologies.
